Technology Tasks

Technology Tasks is a teaching and learning tool, a worksheet and study package for Design and Technology in the National Curriculum.
Content of Technology Task
The titles of the Units are listed below. Each title is followed by a brief description of the content treated in the Unit. Every Unit includes design and making activities and pupil evaluation of materials and mechanisms.
Bin It - An exploration of litter bin mechanisms and design
Circus in Town - Learning about cam and follower action
A Cover Up - Designing and making with fabrics
Fasteners - Examining design and making of fasteners

Hot Rods - Making self-propelled vehicles on wheels and studying energy
Keeping Cool - Rotation effects and the transition from manual to self-powered
Making with Clay case study - Developing knowledge and know-how using clay
Man in the Ice case study - Properties of materials, fabric structures, weaving
Moving Bridges - Planning, designing, using knowledge of mechanisms and materials
Moving Things Along - Using crank action and the use of belt drives to convey materials
On the Town - Large collective products, drawing plans, modelling, reporting
Safe and Sound - Electrical circuits in electrical control, application of knowledge
Sssssssssss - Exploring and evaluating simple pneumatic devices
Structures case study - Strengths of structural shapes and non-conventional materials
Summer Fair - Designing and translating designs into products
Times Up - Timers and solving practical problems 
Up and Away -Drawing a plan and designing and making a model to suit the situation
